Steven S. Miyake is a member of the California Bar, having graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with honors, and Hastings Law School in 1983. He has been practicing law in Northern California since 1984. Having performed a multitude of trials, he is experienced in all aspects of real estate litigation, including: construction defect disputes, landlord-tenant disputes, seller non-disclosure and other buyer/seller disputes, boundary, easement and title disputes, real estate broker liability and real estate development disputes, co-owner and mortgage disputes, and Homeowner Association disputes.
Mr. Miyake has also successfully performed appellate work, and is the driving force behind the reported decision of Thomson vs Canyon (2011) 198 Cal. App. 4th 594. Mr. Miyake has also successfully defended against a personal injury case with $13 million in damages.
A member of the United States District Court Pro Bono Panel, the Bar Association of San Francisco Justice and Diversity Center, and the Alameda County Volunteer Legal Services Corporation, Mr. Miyake takes special pride in volunteering his time, service and experience to help indigent and low income clients, and is the recipient of innumerable Pro Bono Service Awards from both the state and federal agencies. Having been raised in Hawaii, Mr. Miyake is spiritually tied to the island of Kauai, Hawaii.
